Rainwater harvesting is an age-old method still used in many parts of the world today and it is on-the-rise in the United States. As flooding, water supply, and water quality issues continue to increase in the 21st century, rainwater collection systems offer a simple and time-proven solution. In the summer of this year, ASCE presented an introductory webinar on Sustainable Water Management:Rainwater Collection Systems and Analysis.
The webinar provided practical tools and tips to select and analyze rainwater collection systems. Design tips and operation and maintenance strategies were also discussed. Engineered Rainwater Collection and Case Studies for Sustainable Water Management takes this discussion a step further and will examine several case studies to illustrate system components, design, analysis, and operation. Case studies include residential, commercial, and park/public systems.  Participants receive insight into designing rainwater collection systems for commercial, residential, and public lands/parks projects. This seminar focuses on practical applications of rainwater harvesting and case studies of systems that are "on the ground". Site layout, selection, and system sizing is also covered and recommendations for maximizing long-term system effectiveness are included.

 

We are giving members an option to leave at 12:50 for 1 PDH, or 1:30 for 1.5 PDHs.  Cost of the meeting is $20.  Lunch will be assorted sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drinks.
